Sports Turf Technician

So, what duties can you expect to do:

• Install and maintain irrigation systems, including programming controllers, repairs, and backflow prevention
• Install and maintain sub-surface, slit, and sand-groove drainage systems using specialised equipment
• Prepare sites for works through excavation, trenching, grading, and surface levelling
• Operate and maintain renovation machinery such as mowers, rollers, tractors, trenchers, and scarifiers
• Assist with turf establishment, seeding, turf laying, grow-ins, and surface repairs
• Carry out aeration, Verti-draining, scarifying, and topdressing works to improve turf health
• Apply fertilisers, soil amendments, and turf protection products in line with safety standards
• Monitor soil, moisture, and turf conditions to guide maintenance practices
• Support turf construction and reconstruction projects, including laser levelling and re-grassing
• Manage green waste, soils, sands, and aggregates responsibly on site
• Maintain accurate records of works completed, materials used, and site conditions
• Work collaboratively with project managers, turf staff, and contractors to deliver projects
• Follow workplace health, safety, and environmental guidelines across all operations

What are we looking for:

• Knowledge of different types of irrigation systems
• Previous experience in maintaining sports fields/ golf irrigation system
• Previous experience in operating specialized drainage plant and equipment, preferably in the context of sports field construction or landscaping projects.
• Proficiency in the operation and maintenance of drainage equipment, including trenchers, drainage plows, and other relevant machinery
• Great customer service skills and consistently delivering quality workmanship
• Someone who thrives in a dynamic and fast paced environment and is looking at tackling a new challenge

What you will need:

• Qualification in either Turf, Horticulture or Landscape Construction
• Driver's licence and WHS White Card
• Willing to complete a National Police Check
• Working with Children's Check or willing to obtain
