This is a residential role based in the Parkes local area, working a balanced 7-on, 7-off roster with 12-hour shifts—giving you the time to enjoy life outside of work while contributing to a high-performing underground team.

About the role

The current sub-level cave at Northparkes offers a solid 10-year mine life, including five years of development mining. Following this, Evolution Mining has a pipeline of future projects that will extend operations for another decade. We're looking for a skilled and reliable Nipper Operator to join our underground mining team. If you've worked in the industry and know what it takes to support Jumbo operations efficiently and safely, this is your chance to step into a fast-paced role where your experience makes a real impact.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Support Jumbo Operators by setting up headings and preparing the work area for drilling and ground support.
• Assist with the installation of bolts and mesh to ensure ground stability.
• Help minimise equipment downtime by assisting with basic repairs and maintenance on Jumbo rigs.
• Manage the delivery and installation of ground support consumables to keep operations running smoothly.
• Accurately record shift data and reports—keeping everything on track and on time.
• Communicate clearly with the Shift Boss and crew to stay aligned on daily priorities.
• Embrace Evolution's health, safety, and security standards—learning to identify risks and contribute to a safe work environment.
• Demonstrate behaviours that reflect Evolution Mining's values every day.

About you

We're looking for motivated individuals who are ready to learn, grow, and contribute to a supportive underground team. Full training will be provided.

You'll ideally have:

• Currently reside in the Parkes area.
• Previous experience as a Nipper in underground mining—ideally supporting Jumbo operations.
• Confidence working in physically demanding environments and following safety protocols.
• A strong commitment to safety and teamwork.
• Willingness to learn and take on new challenges in a fast-paced environment.
• Certification to work at heights and security clearance to handle explosives (or willingness to obtain).
• A current "C" Class Australian Manual Driver's Licence.
