We are looking for a talented Purchasing and Supply Officer to join our procurement team and ensure the on-time, on-budget supply of goods and materials.

What do you need to bring to the table?

To be successful in this role you will be highly organised, with smart purchasing and negotiation skills and the ability to analyse and use data. You will also be a proactive and effective communicator with a commitment to exceptional customer service.

The role is responsible for managing orders and a monthly purchasing budget to optimise inventory performance. You will plan and manage monthly and seasonal demand using historical data and sales projections and will manage supplier performance, shipment and delivery scheduling, and supply chain communication.

This is a maximum term role to cover maternity leave (maximum term 9-12 months with a view to a permanent role as we expand our business). The role will operate under full-time hours and reports to the Manager – Purchasing at our modern manufacturing facility in Yandina on the Sunshine Coast. Salary based on skills and experience.

Key responsibilities:

  • Management of orders, ensuring optimisation of inventory utilising historical sales data combined with projected future requirements
  • Management of the monthly purchasing budget and orders
  • Planning and management of seasonal demand
  • Support for new product introduction
  • Supplier performance management, including quality, packaging, regulatory compliance and cost reduction initiatives
  • Communication with Sales and Supply Chain teams regarding shipment timing and/or delays
  • Liaising with freight forwarders
  • Customer service, problem-solving and other tasks as required

Skills and experience:

  • Demonstrated purchasing, sales and customer service skills and experience
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word suite, with strong skills and experience in Excel
  • Experience with a CRM/Sales Software Package and ideally advanced MYOB EXO skills
  • International purchasing experience highly desirable
