Purchasing Officer

We're looking for a Purchasing Officer to join our team This role is a key player in keeping ACLE's projects and operations running smoothly. You'll take charge of sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing the goods and services that keep everything moving, from the smallest supplies to the biggest project essentials. Reporting to the Procurement Manager, you'll ensure every purchase is smart, cost-effective, and compliant with company standards. If you're someone who loves building supplier relationships, finding the best deals, and making things happen behind the scenes, this role is your chance to make a real impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Obtain and analyse quotations to ensure best value, quality, and delivery outcomes.
- Prepare and issue purchase orders (POs) in accordance with approved requisitions and company procedures.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier databases, and price lists.
- Monitor order progress, ensuring timely delivery of goods and services to designated sites.
- Liaise with logistics and site teams to coordinate deliveries and resolve supply-related issues.
- Verify supplier invoices against purchase orders and delivery documentation for accuracy.
- Ensure all purchasing activities comply with ACLE policies, ethical standards, and relevant legislation.
- Assist in supplier performance evaluation and development initiatives.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvement, and supplier consolidation.
- Prepare regular purchasing reports and updates for management review.
- Collaborate with project, finance, and logistics teams to align purchasing schedules and budgets.
What will you bring to the role?
- Minimum 3 years of experience in purchasing roles, preferably within the construction, engineering, renewable energy sectors or wholesale distribution.
- Sound understanding of purchasing principles, purchasing systems functionality, and supplier management practices.
- Proficiency in ERP or purchasing management systems preferably Acumatica.
- Strong analytical and evaluation skills.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Experience with renewable energy or large-scale infrastructure projects.(Desirable)
