Junior Project Manager - Commercial Fit-Out & Refurbishment

Location: Melbourne CBD

Type: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $130,000 to $160,000 package

About the Role:

This national Commercial Builder is best known for their Fit out & Refurbishment projects up to $40m in Melbourne CBD. In this split role, between site and office, you will be joining the team as an experienced Project Engineer, who will develop into a Project Manager.

The commercial builder has a strong brand and reputation in the Melbourne Fit out market, with a number of high profile clients across professional services, health care and corporate clients.

What you'll be doing:

  • Project Coordination: Assist in the planning, scheduling, and execution of commercial fit-out projects from inception to completion.
  • Documentation Management: Prepare, review, and manage project documentation, including drawings, specifications, RFI's and submittals.
  • Site Support: Provide technical support to the site team, ensuring all works are compliant with project specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements.
  • Subcontractor Management: Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
  • Quality Control: Conduct site inspections and quality checks to ensure work meets our high standards and client expectations.
  • Financial Administration: Assist with cost control, variations, and progress claims.
  • Health & Safety: Uphold and promote a strong safety culture on-site, ensuring all activities comply with WHS regulations.

The Person:

The successful applicant will have

  • A degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Project Engineer, preferably within the commercial fit-out or construction sector.
  • A solid understanding of construction processes, methodologies, and terminology.
  • Proficiency in project management software Procore & Jobpac
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills
  • A humble, proactive and collaborative attitude with a strong commitment to quality and safety.
