About Us
FLANDERS is a global leader in cutting-edge automation and electrical engineering solutions. We have transformed the global mining industry with pioneering drilling automation technologies, earning the respected title of preferred supplier for manufacturing, servicing, and retrofitting motors and complete power systems. FLANDERS delivers well-known OEM-agnostic solutions that cover a broad range of mobile and fixed plant equipment, including drills, draglines, shovels, and haul trucks
About the role
We are a trusted partner to mining sites across Australia and internationally, specialising in repairing and troubleshooting a wide range of rotating machinery, including draglines, shovels, and ARDVARC autonomous drilling systems.
We're seeking an experienced and motivated Field Services Engineer to join our team. In this hands-on FIFO role, you'll provide exceptional technical support to clients on-site. Every day will bring variety – whether it's testing systems, troubleshooting faults, or carrying out routine maintenance, you'll play a key role in keeping our clients' operations running smoothly.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing remote and on-site technical support.
- Conducting system testing, troubleshooting, and repairs.
- Performing routine maintenance and ensuring reliability.
- Preparing clear and accurate technical reports.
- Building trust with client technicians and clarifying PSA's role when needed.
About You
We are seeking a hands-on engineer with a technical background in heavy mining equipment.
We're looking for more than just technical expertise – we value engineers who combine problem-solving skills with resilience, independence, and strong communication. You'll be able to explain complex issues in a clear, practical way, while building strong relationships with colleagues and clients alike.
What you'll bring:
- Degree or Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 2 years' experience as a Field Service Engineer or Technician (essential).
- Strong background in electromechanical troubleshooting, including PLCs (Studio5000/RS5000/Allen Bradley), auto-electronics, and diagnostic systems.
- Experience with automation systems (ideally autonomous mining equipment / ARDVARC ADS).
- Ability to interpret technical documentation, manage software updates, and maintain system records.
- Familiarity with safety systems and compliance in mining or heavy industry.
- Open Australian driver's licence.
- Self-sufficient – able to work independently onsite while knowing when to escalate or seek support.
- Problem-solver mindset – enjoys diagnosing issues, implementing solutions, and driving continuous improvement.
Desirable skills:
- Mine site experience and understanding of mining operations.
- Knowledge of mobile maintenance.
- Australian-recognised Engineering degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.
Why Join Us
- Work with cutting-edge mining technology and autonomous systems.
- Be part of a supportive, professional team that values safety and collaboration.
- 17.5% Annual leave loading.
- Birthday leave.
- (FIFO) a 8/6 roster.
- $1000 annual private health subsidy.
