About the Role:

A new role in our growing business is ready to be filled by a person who prides themselves on being a self-starter.

The role offers the unique opportunity to work across the many divisions of FMS Group to gain a great wealth of experience. This unique opportunity will provide the selected candidate with experience in a wide range of mining equipment maintenance and product support, Product management and end to end mechanical design.

Working within the new WA Engineering team you will work with the broader engineering department refining your design & engineering skills working on:

  • 2D and 3D CAD packages
  • Drafting
  • FEA analysis
  • Mechanical design and calculations to Australian standards
  • Heavy equipment support and lift plans

Working within the products division you will undertake product engineering activities to support Towhaul, Ground Force & our undercarriage components. Activities will include:

  • Development of local & customer modifications
  • Onsite customer support including trouble shooting issues, commissioning, etc
  • Support workshop teams with builds, compliance & technical support
  • 3D scanning & reverse engineering
  • Contract management
  • Scheduling and resource management

About You

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering with preferably 4 years' experience, however exceptional graduates will be considered
  • 3D scanning experience is highly advantageous
  • trade and knowledge of AS/NZ Engineering Standards, Quality Standards ISO 9001; Mine Design Guidelines and ISO Standards highly advantageous.
  • Ability to perform basic engineering calculations.
  • Able to demonstrate conceptual, analytical and collaborative skills including the ability to solve complex problems.
  • Well-developed computer skills including the use of word processing and spreadsheets as well as using CAD software SolidWorks preferred.
  • Solid interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
