About the Role
The Data Analyst is accountable to the Principal Adviser Intelligence and Analysis and works within the Strategic Improvement and South-East branch. The role is responsible for data analysis and assisting with maintaining the quality of the data collected by the data analysis team. This role checks to ensure all mass balance reporting requirements under the Environment Protection Regulations 2023 are met and that the data received is timely and analysed so regulatory teams can use the data when regulating those sites. The role also works more broadly with data for all parts of the EPA, including liaising to understand what data is kept, performing technical data analysis and communicating outcomes.

The EPA works closely with industry, the community and government to protect the unique natural environment while supporting economic growth and improving wellbeing. The EPA is responsible for the administration of the Environment Protection Act 1993 (EP Act) and the Radiation Protection and Control Act 2021 (RPC Act) and also exercises responsibilities under other South Australian planning and environmental legislation.
