Position: Data Analyst

We have an immediate opportunity for a Data Analyst to support a government data team on a 2-month contract, with a potential to extend. Full-time availability is preferred, and candidates should ideally be at the ASO3–ASO4 level.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Strong data analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficient in Excel, including working with complex datasets and advanced tools.
  • Experience developing visually engaging and meaningful reports and dashboards using data analysis, visualisation, and reporting tools.
  • Experience in data population automation using Visual Basic for Applications (preferred).
  • Familiarity with R and R Markdown (preferred).
  • Ability to quickly learn new applications or systems.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support data collection and input for key reports, including:
  • Circular Economy Resource Recovery (CERR) Report 2024–25
  • Kerbside Waste Performance Report

  • Litter Report

  • Assist with other projects and reporting requirements as needed.

  • Ensure high-quality, accurate reporting and contribute to process improvements where possible.

Location & Flexibility
- Office-based in Waymouth Street, with potential for hybrid work arrangements to be discussed with the manager after commencement.

Pay Rate: $50 per hour plus Super
