About Company

A reputed local council initiating a number of information technology related initiatives aimed at increasing the Council's capacity to service the needs of its growing community

Your new role

An exciting opportunity exists within the Information Technology department for a motivated, creative and experienced IT Solution Architect to design and assist in the implementation of the technology required for its initiatives.

You will be advising on and designing new digital solutions and platforms to support improved organisation service delivery.

The role requires you to architect information and computer systems to meet business needs. This includes, integrating software and hardware as well as acting as a consultant, examining systems architecture and providing solutions.

What you need to succeed

Duties

  • Accountable for the review and assessment of IT initiatives
  • Accountable for the design and upkeep of solution architectures
  • Ensure the designs proposed adhere to the integration patterns
  • Document solution architecture of the end-to-end solution to organisation's standards
  • Oversee the implementation of technology solutions and work with other members of the IT team

Skills and Experience

  • Experience architecting end to end solutions for multiple transformation programs (essential).
  • Demonstrated expertise in a broad range of enterprise service bus solutions, with extensive knowledge of solution architecture principles, including appropriate certification and experience with enterprise scale implementations (essential).
  • More than 5 years' experience in architecting solutions for a wide variety of applications, and more than 3 years' experience integrating multiple applications via a modern ESB platform (essential).
  • Adept at translating business requirement into design and development activities with a focus on reducing development effort and simplifying implementation and integration (essential).
  • Experience in development of systems architecture within Local Government (desirable)
  • Ability to decipher architecture through analysis (desirable)
  • Prior technical experience as a developer would be highly advantageous within this role
  • Excellent communication skills
