Summary:

We are seeking a Cyber Exercise Planner to design, coordinate, and deliver cyber exercises that test and enhance the readiness of our client and internal teams. This role blends project management, technical understanding, and creativity to craft realistic and engaging cyber scenarios that mirror today's threat landscape.

You'll work closely with technical teams, cyber range operators, and clients to ensure exercises are technically sound, operationally relevant, and strategically aligned with learning objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and plan cyber exercises, tabletop activities, and live simulations tailored to client or organisational needs.
  • Collaborate with technical staff to design exercise networks, attack paths, and defensive playbooks.
  • Create detailed exercise documentation, including scenarios, injects, participant roles, and response timelines.
  • Manage the logistics, coordination, and execution of cyber exercises (virtual or in-person).
  • Conduct after-action reviews and produce reports highlighting key lessons and improvement areas.
  • Stay current on emerging threats, attack vectors, and best practices in cyber defence and incident response.
  • Support range operators and engineers during exercises to ensure smooth execution.
  • Engage with stakeholders to define objectives, evaluate readiness, and measure outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • NV2 Security Clearance
  • Proven experience in Cyber Range operations, simulation, or exercise planning
  • Familiarity with Defence ICT environments, including classified networks and simulation platforms
  • Strong background in network and systems administration
  • Hands-on experience with virtualisation technologies, scripting, and cyber security tools
  • Ability to work in high-tempo, mission-critical environments with multidisciplinary teams
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and technical documentation skills
