About the Role
The Manager Privacy and Legislative Compliance ensures NSW Electoral Commission complies with privacy laws and regulations. The role leads compliance programs, advises on legislative requirements and manages privacy and data governance. It also plays a key role in investigating privacy breaches and handling complaints.
The role is an Ongoing Full-time position.

The New South Wales Electoral Commission delivers trusted and independent systems, processes, oversight and engagement that support democracy in New South Wales. - Running and regulating elections
- Communicating and engaging with current and future voters, key NSW community stakeholders and NSW election participants; and
- Investigating possible offences and enforcing electoral and lobbying laws such as the Electoral Act 2017 and the Electoral Funding Act 2018.

Key knowledge, experience and essential requirements:
As the successful candidate, you will have:
- Strong understanding of relevant legislation (e.g. Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998; Health Records and Information Privacy Act 2002; Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009; Privacy Act 1988).
- Strong organisational and analytical skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to effectively advise senior stakeholders.
- Experience in managing multiple priorities and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with privacy by design (including carrying out privacy impact assessments), privacy audits, privacy and data governance risk management.
- Management and operation of privacy services within an organisation.
- Experience with implementing and managing data governance.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and industry experience.
- Politically neutral with no current or past affiliation to political parties or lobbyist/campaigners.
- Satisfactory Criminal Record check result.
