  • Salary Clerk Grade 3/4 with base salary ranging from $84,659 to $92,701 per annum, plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading

About the role

The HR Officer is responsible for the accurate and efficient delivery of HR transactional services, ensuring the highest standards of data integrity and confidentiality.  This role supports informed decision-making by providing comprehensive reporting and utilizing advanced technology to drive continuous improvement. The roles are based in our Ed Connect, Shared Services HR team. 

The successful candidates will be required to attend the office full-time for the first three months for training requirements.  After that period, an option to work 40% from home. Start and finish times range from 7:30am to 6pm as per the flexible work policy. 

About the role:

  • Deliver HR transactional services that support the functional area's operations
  • Accurately process pay, leave, service history and debt recoveries which includes the onboarding and separation of employees
  • Provide clear and accurate advice to internal customers to resolve enquiries in a timely manner about tax regulations, superannuation, awards and entitlements
  • Escalate complex issues when necessary
  • Maintain accurate records, data processing and reporting in compliance with established operating systems
  • Maintain confidentiality with employee matters and adherence to departmental governance policies, and security protocols.
  • Utilise records and data management systems to analyse data, preparing reports that offer insights and recommendations to support management decision-making.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

About you:

  • Demonstrated experience of end-to-end payroll processes, including tax regulations, superannuation, awards and entitlements.
  • Be familiar with payroll systems and software used for high-volume payroll processing such as SAP, Trim and MS Office
  • Be a self-starter with strong communication skills
  • Problem solver with great attention to detail
  • Customer focused and a team player
  • Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
