Senior Technical Business Analyst – Data & InsightsLocation: Sydney

Duration: 6-month contract

We're seeking an experienced Senior Technical Business Analyst to lead data product analysis and design across enterprise and consumption layers within a large insurance organisation.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to strategic data initiatives and deliver meaningful business outcomes in both project and BAU settings.

You'll work closely with business and technical data specialists to shape the data roadmap, define requirements, and support the delivery of high-quality, fit-for-purpose data products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the analysis and design of data assets for enterprise and consumption layers.
  • Contribute to data strategy and roadmap development across Claims and Business/SME units.
  • Define and document high-level data and insights requirements across reporting, analytics, and digital use cases.
  • Map business requirements to data sources and objects with input from SMEs.
  • Analyse data quality, define transformation logic, and document data mappings.
  • Collaborate with data modelers, engineers, and testers to ensure data product quality.
  • Facilitate UAT sign-off, deployment, and adoption of data products.
  • Build compelling business cases to support new data initiatives.

You will bring:

  • Strong experience leading data product analysis, design, and build.
  • Demonstrated success as a data/insights business partner.
  • Advanced SQL scripting, data mapping, and target/process mapping skills.
  • Deep understanding of the end-to-end data engineering lifecycle and data quality management.
  • Experience working across data design, engineering, and testing teams in enterprise data warehouse/lake environments.
  • Background in Workers Compensation, CTP, Property, or Commercial insurance is essential.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate effectively.
  • Prior experience as a Data Analyst highly regarded.
