The Opportunity

Due to company growth, we are seeking a suitably qualified Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to join our team in Orange. Applicants will need to be reliable, flexible, self-motivated, and prepared to work independently and as part of a small team working afternoon shift from 2pm to 10.30pm, Monday to Friday.

You will be responsible for servicing and repairs on our fleet of waste management collection vehicles effectively, while maintaining to the NHVR standards.

Duties of the role
  • Conduct all facets of preventative maintenance and repair of heavy vehicles including brakes, steering, suspension, hydraulics and fabrications
  • Installations and commissioning of mechanical/ hydraulic components and systems
  • Carry out non-routine repairs as necessary
  • Ensuring the fleet is maintained to, and in compliance with Fleet Management Standards, with an emphasis on safety
  • Supervise and give direction to Apprentices as required
  • Onsite checks and breakdowns.
Essential Requirements
  • Certificate III Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent
  • Current NSW Trade Licence
  • Ability to diagnose and repair defects
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Minimum Class C drivers Licence
  • Willing to obtain a HR Licence.
