The Opportunity
At APA, our purpose is to secure Australia's energy future. We're not doing it alone. We're doing it with our customers and communities as Australia's energy infrastructure partner, a role our unique experience and expertise positions us to play.
We now have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Consultant – Change Management to join APA's Grid Solutions Program team in Sydney CBD office on a full-time basis until June 2027.
Reporting to the Business Transformation and Change Lead, this role plays a pivotal part in delivering one of APA's most significant digital transformation programs - modernising how we operate our gas transmission assets and directly impacting our core revenue.
This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of our business, drive people and customer readiness, and embed meaningful change that will set APA up for long-term success.
Key Responsibilities

- Develop and implement tailored change strategies that focus on adoption, capability uplift, behaviour shifts, and readiness reporting.
- Oversee communications and engagement, including program comms, leadership updates, business readiness forums, fortnightly engagement sessions, and internal digital platforms.
- Guide and coach two direct reports (a Change Consultant and Change Analyst), ensuring consistent, high-quality communications and impact assessments.
- Partner with executive sponsors, customer managers, and operational teams to manage stakeholders and secure alignment.
- Monitor and analyse sentiment across internal and customer groups, using surveys, feedback loops, and engagement to surface risks and opportunities.
- Translate insights into actionable change and communication plans that address resistance and enhance engagement.
Your background
- Extensive experience in leading change management delivery for large-scale digital or transformation programs.
- Strong background in communications, stakeholder engagement, and customer-focused change.
- Proven ability to design and deliver change impact assessments, readiness plans, and tailored strategies.
- Confidence in managing complex stakeholder groups, including executives, customers, and operational teams.
- Experience leading and coaching junior change professionals.
- A people-first mindset, with the ability to translate sentiment into clear actions and drive adoption.
