About the Role

Smart Transport and IoT team deliver and supports Transportation and IoT solutions for Enterprise and Government customers. This encompasses Public Transportation, Intelligent Transport Systems, IoT and In Vehicle Telemetry solutions along with professional services and support.

We are now looking for an experienced Test Automations Engineer to join our team on an a permanent basis.

This role is responsible for understanding the NEC Smart Transport and IoT domains, perform testing, prepare test automation frameworks, create relevant test artefacts, perform customer support functions, and create relevant technical support artefacts.

Key Accountabilities

  • Design, develop, and execute automated tests for Android, web, and Linux-based applications.
  • Build and maintain test frameworks using Selenium, Python, Bash, TestNG, PyUnit, Jenkins, and Git.
  • Enhance testing frameworks and automate repetitive tasks through advanced scripting.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into test cases and improve test coverage.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, customers, and support teams regarding requirements, service requests, and incidents.
  • Promote open communication, using feedback to support continuous improvement of products, systems, and services.

Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years' experience as a Test Automation Engineer with proven expertise in automated test frameworks.
  • Strong knowledge of BDD Cucumber framework, functional/regression testing, and integration with tools such as XRay.
  • Proficient in API testing with REST Assured and integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins).
  • Advanced scripting skills (Python, Bash) with a strong focus on test automation for Android applications.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies, continuous integration, and delivery.

Qualifications

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in software testing, verification, and validation.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining automated testing solutions.
