We have a strong pipeline of local projects including aviation, health, industrial, multi-residential, and commercial projects. We are seeking a Services Design Manager to join our team Sunshine Coast Team.

About the Role

As our Services Design Manager you will oversee building services coordination and management across large-scale projects. You'll take the lead on coordinating mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and fire systems through all stages of design and construction – ensuring safety, compliance, and value management remain front and centre. You'll be joining a collaborative, solutions-focused team that lives and breathes The McNab Way – building legendary relationships, delivering certainty, and genuinely caring about our clients, consultants, and each other.

Responsibilities include:

• Managing the full lifecycle of services design including all MEP disciplines.
• Contribute to the Design Management Plan and lead development of the services section.
• Manage documentation control and change control processes for services design deliverables.
• Identify cost, time and quality optimisation opportunities across services design.
• Driving design compliance, clash coordination, and value management.
• Collaborating with consultants, authorities, McNab's operations teams and the client to ensure the services design is fully integrated and constructable.
• Overseeing Safety in Design (SiD), commissioning planning, and services authority approvals.
• Leading meetings with stakeholders to maintain alignment, resolve issues early, and deliver with certainty.
• Lead commissioning and certification coordination for services elements.
• Support the design-to-operations handover with all relevant services documentation complete.
• Develop and maintain a services design program aligned to construction milestones and critical path.
• Contribute to the Design Management Plan and lead development of the services section.

About you

• Degree qualified in Building Services Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or similar.
• Strong track record in services design coordination services design management on commercial or infrastructure projects in a Design & Construct (D&C) or ECI contract environment.
• A strong commercial focus, with the ability to uncover cost efficiencies and practical design solutions.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the confidence to influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Proven ability to identify and proactively manage design and project risks.
• A collaborative approach and the capability to build and maintain strong, trusted relationships across clients, consultants, and internal teams.
• Deep understanding of services integration, NCC compliance, BCA, Australian Standards and Authority approval pathways.
• You're highly organised, love working with a team, and know how to build trust fast.
• Experience in aviation or public infrastructure projects highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of authority approval processes (Energex, QUU, QFES, etc.).
• High attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative approach.
