Our Business

Thomas Borthwick & Sons (Australia) Pty Ltd forms part of the NH Foods group of companies. The Company operates a beef processing facility in Mackay, Queensland.

We are seeking a Trade Qualified Electrician to join our team.

The successful applicant would find it advantageous to possess the following skills:

  • Qld Electrical work licence.
  • 3 years' experience as a tradesman
  • Basic understanding of SCADA Systems.
  • Experience in an industrial maintenance environment.
  • Prior experience with PLCs and control systems.
  • Strong communication skills In order to openly communicate with colleagues & supervisors.
  • Experience in manufacturing/continuous operation and in food manufacturing is desirable.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong emphasis on planned preventative maintenance systems.
  • Willingness to work a rotating weekday shift.

Reporting to the Plant Electrical Supervisor the duties will include, but won't be limited to:

  • Electrical maintenance on site completed to applicable standards.
  • Perform tasks in a safe and timely manner.
  • Task scheduling for timely repair and preventative maintenance.
  • To assist in the execution of installation and commissioning of new equipment.
  • To be proactive in identifying potential plant and operational efficiency improvements.
  • Task scheduling for timely repair and preventative maintenance
  • To assist in the development of the preventative maintenance system ensuring that planned maintenance leads to maximum productivity and minimal production downtime.
  • Have a good attendance record
