The Role:

Join an industry-leading electrical company providing innovative solutions to mining and industrial customers. Based at their Paget workshop in Mackay, you'll play a key role in installing, maintaining, and modifying electrical equipment while ensuring safety and quality standards are met. This hands-on position involves both workshop-based tasks and occasional site visits, offering the chance to mentor apprentices and contribute to planning and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out electrical tasks as assigned in a safe, timely, and efficient manner.
  • Plan workload up to five days in advance and ensure material availability before starting work.
  • Assist in scheduling and prioritizing tasks, and collaborate with supervisors and sub-contractors.
  • Ensure quality assurance processes are followed and timesheets are completed accurately.
  • Promote a positive and proactive work environment while mentoring less experienced staff.
  • Support development and adherence to safety and quality procedures.

Common Tasks Include:

  • Installation, maintenance, and modification of electrical equipment per safety standards.
  • Ensuring work areas meet high housekeeping standards for customer inspections.
  • Documenting and reporting learnings from various equipment tasks.

About You:

  • Fully qualified electrician with demonstrated trade experience.
  • Proven background in electrical system work, preferably in a manufacturing or mining setting.
  • EEHA certification and working knowledge of standards such as AS4871, AS3000 and AS60079
  • PLC / SCADA experience desired
  • Solid understanding of risk management, safety compliance, and QA practices.
  • Strong planning, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Comfortable mentoring others and maintaining a high standard of work under pressure.
  • Flexible with working hours and open to occasional travel.
  • A current, unrestricted driver's licence is required.
