Your new company
This company, operating in the construction space, is a leading construction company in Tasmania, specialising in the design, development, and construction of high-quality steel structures for commercial, industrial, and rural markets. They are looking for an experienced Contract Administrator to join their team based in either the Hobart or Launceston office.
Your new role
The Contract Administrator will support the Project Managers by assisting with managing all financial, contractual, and commercial aspects of construction projects. They will provide monthly updates and checklists. They will also be responsible for but not limited to the following:
- Tendering and Contract Negotiation: Prepare tender documents and negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Cost Management: Monitor and control project costs throughout the construction process.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with projects
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including bills of quantities, specifications, and contract terms
- Purchase Orders: Prepare and manage purchase orders for materials and services.
- System Implementation: Assist in the rollout of the Procore system within the organisation, including the training of staff and clients.
What you'll need to succeed
To be a successful candidate, you will need to be a highly organised and detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills and extensive experience in quantity surveying. You'll also need the following:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Contract Administration
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
- Proficiency in quantity surveying software and tools.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
