Action Plant Service require experienced Heavy Vehicle/Commercial Mechanics who are looking to upgrade their Certificate of Proficiency for compliance in the mining industry. An exciting opportunity exists for the right candidates to secure a 3 year Traineeship and transition your skills to become a fully qualified Plant Mechanic. The successful candidates will be enrolled into our upskilling program (Cert IV Engineering, Fixed and Mobile Plant). You will be based permanently on site working along side experienced Heavy Plant tradesmen to gain the necessary skills required to complete your trade upgrade. Previous site experience is essential for this role. The duties will primarily include open cut mining equipment maintenance, repair and service work based in the Hunter Valley area. Highly competitive rates and overtime regularly available. 12% Superannuation paid on all hours worked at full hourly rate. All positions are Permanent Full Time Positions.

Essential Criteria:

  • Heavy Vehicle Road Transport/ Commercial/Automotive/Light Vehicle Certificate of Proficiency, or similar.
  • Proven experience in a similar role.
  • Dedicated to Workplace Safety.
  • Ability to pass an Order 43 Coal Board Medical.
  • Working at Heights (highly regarded).
  • MDG25 Certificate (highly regarded).
  • High Risk Work License, Dogging, Forklift, EWP (highly regarded).
  • First Aid (highly regarded).

Common equipment that you will be working on include; Cat , Liebherr T282, Cat D11-D10, Cat 24M-16M, Cat 992, , Hitachi, Liebherr and Komatsu Excavators and similar open cut mobile mining equipment.

The applicants must be experienced, highly motivated, automotive tradespersons and be able to work unsupervised at a very high level of competence. APS expects it's employees to maintain an impeccable safety record, excellent client relations and to be productive on every shift.
