Are you an experienced Mechanical Engineerpassionate about operational safety, environmental impact, and supporting significant upgrade projects? We are seeking a highly skilled individual to join our team and play a pivotal role in the enhancement of our clients' systems.

Located on a coal-fired Power Station just south of Newcastle this is an exceptional opportunity to contribute to meaningful changes while ensuring compliance, efficiency, and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and Manage Assets: Develop and implement strategies to keep our equipment and facilities in top condition. This includes planning, updating, and seeking expert advice.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Set up systems to prevent issues before they arise. Monitor, analyse, and address potential problems.
  • Technical Guidance: Provide support and advice to team members and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
  • Oversee Projects and Contracts: Manage external contracts and lead projects, ensuring they meet our quality, budget, and timeline goals.
  • Budget Oversight: Create and manage budgets for plant areas, balancing company and operational needs.
  • Spare Parts and Inventory: Manage strategic spares and inventory to control costs while ensuring availability.
  • Compliance: You'll make sure all our asset management activities follow safety, environmental, and legal requirements.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
  • 5 years of proven mechanical engineering experience, preferably in coal-fired power stations or similar industries.
  • Strong understanding of dust extraction systems and fabric filter technologies.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and compliance frameworks for power generation facilities.
  • Proven expertise in risk reviews and operational systems evaluation.
  • Knowledge of change management processes and upgrade project implementation.
  • Interpersonal and leadership skills to support employee education and empower teams.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to deliver robust assessments and solutions.

Preferred Skills and Attributes:

  • Experience in project management or construction support.
  • Background in instrumentation and piping systems for industrial facilities.
  • Exceptional communication skills with a focus on collaboration and feedback.
