The Collective Initiative (TCI) is a fast-growing organisation working in partnership with Dream Maker Community Services (DMCS), a well-known and nationally recognised NDIS service provider. DMCS is dedicated to empowering people with disabilities through tailored, person-centred care. We are currently recruiting 5 male Support Workers with demonstrated experience in personal care and manual handling to join our team. Full-time hours are available for the right applicants.

About the role

You will be supporting two adult participants who display challenging behaviours (both verbal and physical) and have reduced mobility, requiring personal care and assistance with daily living tasks.Tasks include:

  • Providing personal care support, including assistance with toileting, hygiene, and showering. This involves full personal care, including cleaning and supporting participants with all hygiene needs.
  • Assisting with transfers and mobility, such as moving safely from bed to wheelchair and vice versa.
  • Managing and responding appropriately to challenging behaviours, using positive behaviour support strategies and calm communication.

About You:

  • Demonstrated experience in manual handling, including assisting participants with transfers (e.g., from bed to wheelchair).
  • Proven experience in providing personal care support, including full hygiene assistance such as toileting, showering, and cleaning.
  • Ability to manage and respond to challenging behaviours (both verbal and physical) using calm, positive, and professional communication.
  • Strong work ethic and reliability, with a commitment to providing high-quality support.
  • Good written communication skills for completing mandatory reports and documentation accurately.
  • Ability towork independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's licence and a reliable vehicle with a comprehensive car insurance
  • Please be aware that all applicants will be required to undergo a screening process, which includes a NDIS Worker Screening Check, a Working with Children Check, a National Police Check passed to the employer satisfaction.
