Assistant Manager / Head Barista – Jericho (Dandenong)

Full-time | Monday to Friday | 6:15am–3:15pm | No weekends

Jericho is a vibrant, community-focused café/restaurant in Dandenong known for exceptional coffee, fresh Middle Eastern-inspired fusion food, and genuine hospitality.

We're looking for a confident and experienced Assistant Manager / Head Barista to lead our small, passionate team and support the General Manager in daily operations.

About the Role

This is a hands-on leadership role combining barista excellence and operational management.

You'll lead the morning coffee rush, motivate the team, and ensure every customer leaves with a smile.

The ideal candidate has a strong barista background, natural leadership skills, and thrives in a fast-paced but supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead café operations and support a small team across front and back of house.
  • Deliver consistently excellent coffee and maintain quality control.
  • Manage daily workflows, cleaning, and closing procedures.
  • Engage customers and build long-term regular relationships.
  • Oversee opening & closing procedures

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum 2 years' experience as a senior barista
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a supervisor / assistant manager role.
  • Confident with espresso dial-in and high-volume service.
  • Reliable, organised, and approachable with a positive attitude.
  • Able to motivate and guide others calmly and professionally.
  • Passionate about hospitality, coffee, and teamwork.
