Employment Skills Mentor
At CVGT Employment, we believe meaningful work transforms lives. Since 1983, we've been unlocking potential and creating brighter futures - connecting people to opportunity, supporting businesses with capable talent, and strengthening the communities we serve. With locations across Victoria, New South Wales, and Tasmania, we're proud to be a not-for-profit, for-purpose organisation committed to building inclusive employment pathways that make a real difference.
What You'll Do
As an Employment Skills Mentor, you'll help job seekers build the confidence, skills, and readiness they need to thrive in the workforce. You'll design and deliver dynamic group workshops, complemented by tailored one-on-one support. Working closely with employers, training providers, and community organisations, you'll help create meaningful pathways that lead to long-term employment outcomes.
- Caseload Management: Manage participant caseloads with care and efficiency, ensuring person-centred support throughout the employment journey.
- Engage & Coach: Support participants in identifying their strengths and barriers, while providing guidance and encouragement to help them stay focused on achieving their employment goals.
- Tailored Pathways: Facilitate group workshops and one-on-one mentoring. Connect participants with training, activities, and work experience pathways that suit their needs.
- Engage Community: Build strong partnerships with employers, training providers, and community organisations to expand opportunities and create employment pathways.
- Program Compliance: Maintain accurate records and uphold compliance standards to support high-quality contract-aligned outcomes and performance goals.
What You Bring
A background in employment services, training, or recruitment is desirable, but not essential. We're looking for someone who brings the right mindset and strengths across the following areas:
- Training & Facilitation: Experienced in designing and delivering engaging group workshops that build participants' skills, confidence, and readiness for employment.
- Relationship Building: Skilled in building trust-based relationships and adapting communication styles with emotional intelligence, empathy, and professionalism.
- Organised & Adaptable: Manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment, balancing administrative demands with people-centred service delivery.
- Tech Savvy: Confident with Microsoft Office, CRM systems, and digital tools.
- Pre-Requisites: Full eligibility to work in Australia, with the ability to obtain a National Police Check, Working with Children Check, and/or Vulnerable Persons Check.
What's In It for You
- Salary Packaging – Maximise your take-home pay with flexible options.
- Extra Leave Benefits – Enjoy additional time off to recharge.
- Wellbeing Support – Access our Employee Assistance Program and Perkbox benefits.
- Professional Growth – Ongoing training, development, and career progression.
- Inclusive Culture – Proudly recognised as a Diversity Council of Australia Inclusive Employer, 2023–2024.
Apply NowIf you're ready to make a real difference in the lives of job seekers and build a career with purpose, we'd love to hear from you.
