Workfast is looking for anExperienced Forklift Operator/ Yard hand to join our client's metal recycling site in Broadmeadows, VIC.

The work will involve working in a recycling metal facility, doing manual handling and forklift operations.

Candidates must hold a valid forklift license and be reliable, hardworking, punctual, and physically fit. This is a full-time casual position.

What You Get

Requirements

  • Must have a Forklift License
  • Must have counterbalance experience
  • Experience operating 5-ton or more forklifts
  • Must be physically fit and able to do manual handling
  • Previous yard hand, recycling or logistics experience
  • Strong attention to detail and a positive attitude
  • Willingness to learn and take on new training
  • Strong reliability and communication skills
  • Ability to work safely and follow site procedures
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol testing
  • Must be fit and able to undertake heavy lifting

Responsibilities

  • Moving stock in the yard with a forklift
  • Load and unload of scrap metal
  • Sorting and processing scrap metal
  • Assist customers onsite and deliver strong service
  • Maintain yard cleanliness and adhere to OH&S and environmental standards
  • Record incoming and outgoing material details
  • Working on the production line, picking and sorting material
  • Communicate with the driver and client, guiding traffic in the yard
  • Housekeeping duty and cleaning up the yard
  • General labouring duties
  • Any other duties required by the site manager
