Teacher Librarian

Opening in 2021, Barramurra Public School features 54 state of the art classroom spaces which are designed to facilitate innovative, flexible and collaborative teaching practices. Barramurra Public School has 4 support classes catering for students with a moderate intellectual disability and autism. The school encourages a holistic and inclusive approach, supported by strong student wellbeing programs. Barramurra Public School serves a rapidly growing multicultural community of 1190 students with 62% of our students having a language background other than English. Our students come from 30 different countries and speak 65 different languages. 3% of our students identify as Aboriginal and our students come from a wide range of socio-economic backgrounds.

Barramurra Public School has established strong relationships with the community and provides a range of extra-curricula activities in sport, science, technology, and creative and performing arts, which enable all students the opportunity to excel through a range of experiences in an equitable and outstanding learning environment. • Approval to teach primary library or currently undertaking or currently enrolled in Teacher Librarian qualifications approved by the NSW Department of Education
• Outstanding ability to promote and manage a library that functions as a learning hub for the school and engages, inspires and extends all learners, particularly with opportunities for authentic engagement with information and communication technology.
• Demonstrated skills to work flexibly and collaboratively with staff and students to design and deliver engaging and research-based teaching and learning practices across all Key Learning Areas, including the authentic integration of digital technologies and resources.
• Demonstrated strong interpersonal, communication and organisational skills, with an ability to build a positive and effective relationship with students, staff, parents and the community.

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

If applicable, engagement will be temporary until successful completion of the Teacher Library qualifications as recognised by the NSW Department of Education which must be completed within 24 months.
