The role:

We are seeking talented, reliable, and passionate support workers to join our team. Ideally, we are seeking people who are looking to work in the care sector long term, as their primary employment.

As a Support Worker you will support people living with disability through:

  • Assisting participants with daily living activities (including personal care, washing, cleaning, cooking, job applications) and day to day support to meet the goals detailed in their individual plans.
  • Supporting participants to access community events or services and with social outings and transport.
  • Accurate data collection and completion of all required documentation including progress notes as required.
  • Providing support in a manner that is consistent and encourages and motivates the Participant to meet their goals and independent skills building, through person centred practices.
  • Promoting a stimulating, caring and culturally appropriate environment for participants.
  • Providing any required self-care, social and emotional support to the participant as required.
  • Maintaining appropriate and effective communication with all stakeholders, including team leaders, peers, and management

The work location:

You will primarily be supporting NDIS Participants in the Redland and Brisbane area. Additional working locations are available in Brisbane northern suburbs.

Mandatory requirements:

This position will be ideal for candidates with:

  • exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with participants and team members
  • a passion and enthusiasm for care and support work in the disability sector
  • an ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • ability to work some sleepovers
  • experience in manual handling
  • experience in providing personal care
  • experience working with behaviour support plans
  • experience working with dementia

The successful candidate will also possess:

  • NDIS Worker Screening Check (Yellow Card)
  • Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
  • All NDIS training modules available on the NDIS Quality and Safeguard Commission website (completed previously or willing to obtain)
  • Drivers Licence (without restrictions)
  • Reliable and comprehensively insured vehicle
  • First Aid & CPR Certificates
  • Certificate III qualification (or higher) in a relevant industry field (preferred)
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Available to work a 24/7 rotating roster
  • Willing to travel across greater Brisbane to provide support for other clients in future as needed.
