Apply your clinical dental and leadership skills to provide high-quality oral health services to eligible clients in the Top End of Australia.

As a Remote Dentist Manager, your primary objective is to effectively manage the delivery of oral health services to eligible client groups in East Arnhem and the Top End region in accordance with the Top End Oral Health Services agreed policies, protocols and procedures.

Your key responsibilities involve managing patients with complex medical history and procedural difficulties, performing dental procedures under general anesthetic, providing high quality comprehensive clinical services and supporting dental practitioners in local clinics. You will also liaise with oral health providers to coordinate the provision of services to remote areas and undertake community trips of up to one week at a time to rural and remote communities travelling in light aircrafts and or 4WD's. In addition, you will apply your professional experience to foster a positive workplace culture through exemplary leadership practices and role modelling behaviour.

To be successful, you are required to be an accomplished dentist with recency of practice and full registration with the Dental Board of Australia in the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APHRA), experienced in clinical diagnosis and treatment planning and complex case management with demonstrated ability to lead and manage a small oral health clinic.

Demonstrated understanding of and familiarity with quality improvement processes, current infection control protocols and the ability to work within a cross-cultural environment and interact effectively with people of diverse cultures is essential.

In return, you will receive an annual attraction allowance of $27,967 (paid in fortnightly installments) and a competitive remuneration package inclusive of 12% superannuation, 6 weeks annual recreation leave, 3 weeks personal leave, 10 days professional development leave, and 17.5% annual leave loading. You will also be eligible for generous professional development allowance, which can be reimbursed to cover flight tickets, accommodation, course fees and incidental charges with undertaking the activities.

At the end of your first year, you will be eligible for a retention allowances ($34,958, paid as a lump sum) and based on your educational qualifications, you may also be eligible for a clinical expertise allowance.

  • Remote housing assistance
  • Two flights out of Nhulunbuy to nearest city per year
  • Travel allowance provided in addition to regular wage for remote placements.
