APV Test Centre specialises in:

  • Crash & Safety Testing
  • Environmental & Life Cycle Exposure
  • Mechanical & Dynamic Impact Testing
  • High Speed Imaging
  • High speed data acquisition and instrumentations
  • Biomechanical Testing

These services are provided to a wide range of industries which include Automotive (OEM and aftermarket), Aviation, Defence, Transportation seating and Component manufacturers. See 

APV-T offer this unique opportunity within the Test Centre's crash track operations to an individual who can demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude and desire to learn new skills. Located in Campbellfield, VIC.

The primary activities within this role will include;

  • Component, vehicle & impact barrier test preparations, in accordance with test engineer instructions and the test centre quality and operational procedures.
  • General Automotive Mechanic skills.
  • Vehicle strip down, replacement of airbags and other safety related systems and components, mark/paint selected components for clear assessment during test, re-assembly of the vehicle and other assigned tasks.

On the job training will establish your expertise in,

  • Installation of data acquisition equipment.
  • Dimensional analysis (DA) activities utilising CMM and handheld scanning devices. This will include associated software knowledge and overlaying results with CAD data.
  • Ability to liaise directly with customers to support product testing and development.
  • Preparation of Anthropomorphic Test Dummies (ATD's) for impact testing.
  • Automotive electrical duties where trained\qualified
  • Preventative maintenance tasks required within area.
  • APV-T Policies, Procedures & Strategies incl. but not limited to; Business Operations, Health & Safety, Quality (System & Regulatory requirements).
  • Providing support to other areas incl. but not limited to test execution processes & equipment.

Criteria

The successful candidate will have strong technical or mechanical aptitude with a qualification in Automotive Mechanical or Electrical Technician streams, or hold a trade qualification in a similar field. The applicant must be competent operating computers and technical equipment.

Maturity and professionalism are required including the ability to effectively communicate within a team and to the customer. Working on parallel projects you will be self-motivated to manage time and tasks effectively, support your colleagues and strive to exceed customer expectations. Your past achievements should reflect a keen attention to detail, integrity, patience, resilience, and the ability to work to complex procedures and processes.
