About the role

Banana Shire Council is seeking an experienced strategic Human Resources Business Partner to join our team. This full-time role will be based in Biloela, Queensland and will play a key part in driving our people and culture agenda.

What you'll be doing

  • Partnering with leaders to understand their people and workforce needs and provide tailored HR advice and solutions
  • Delivering HR programs and initiatives that support organisational strategic objectives, including  talent management, learning and development, and employee engagement
  • Providing hands-on HR support to managers, including coaching, performance management, and managing employee relations issues
  • Ensuring Councils HR policies, processes and systems remain compliant and fit-for-purpose
  • Collaborating with the HR, WHS L&D and Payroll teams to continuously improve HR service delivery and the employee experience

What we're looking for

  • Experience as a HR Business Partner or HR Generalist, ideally within a Local Government
  • Sound understanding of employment legislation and HR best practices
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to analyse data, identify trends and recommend practical solutions
  • Strong project management and change management capabilities
  • Tertiary qualification in Human Resources or relevant experience
  • Queensland 'C' class driver's licence
