Industrial Mining Inspection Solutions (IMIS) is a Queensland-based service provider specialising in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) solutions for the mining and resources industry. We have a team of highly qualified and experienced inspection personnel with years of experience in mining and industrial inspection. Our services give clients an edge in inspecting equipment from a statutory or monitoring perspective.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for an NDT Technician located in Queensland, Australia. The NDT Technician will be responsible for conducting various non-destructive tests on equipment and infrastructure in the mining and resources industry. Day-to-day tasks include performing inspections using eddy current, ultrasonics, and corrosion assessment techniques, ensuring quality control, and accurately documenting and reporting findings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct NDT inspections using ultrasonic, radiographic, magnetic particle, liquid penetrant, and visual testing methods
  • Inspect welds, castings, pressure vessels, and structural components for defects
  • Operate and calibrate NDT equipment including flaw detectors and radiographic systems
  • Interpret test results according to industry codes (ASME, AWS, API, ASTM)
  • Document findings and prepare detailed inspection reports
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols, especially radiation safety

Required Qualifications

  • NDT Level II certification in relevant methods
  • 2-5 years NDT experience
  • Knowledge of industry standards and inspection codes
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel
