Position Information

Parramatta West Public School is a large and growing school of 950 students. 90% of students are from non-English speaking backgrounds, with 85% requiring some level of EAL/D (English as an Additional Language or Dialect) support. Our students come from a wide range of socio-economic backgrounds. The staff have a range of experiences, from beginning teachers to teachers with many years in classrooms. Our teachers are committed to providing quality learning experiences that meet the needs of all students. This includes undertaking activities to meet student learning outcomes as well as special activities including dance, music, sport, debating and STEM enrichment programs.

Selection Criteria
  • Approval to teach Infants (K-2) and Primary, with a demonstrated ability to plan and implement high quality, data-informed literacy and numeracy programs, utilising evidence-based practices.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills to actively contribute to a culture that values collaboration, high expectations and building positive partnerships with the whole school community.
  • Evidence of effective and positive classroom management to develop an engaging learning environment that enhances the wellbeing of all students.
  • Demonstrated capacity and willingness to support whole school programs and extra-curricular activities, including sport, to strengthen school culture.
Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
