Kanandah Retirement Ltd is a not-for-profit Residential Aged care providers in Mudgee NSW, with the completion of additional wing to meet the residential care demand for up-to 96 residents. Role

Kanandah is seeking a suitably qualified trades or experienced Maintenance Manager to provide hands on assistance in maintaining the good working order of our physical assets. Reporting to our Administrator and working closely with our Finance Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the physical standards of Kanandah's buildings, fixtures and fittings, fire and emergency systems, and equipment comply with all of our statutory requirements. This is a hands on position with the successful candidate applying their trade qualified skills to maintain and repair our assets. Our Maintenance Manager is also responsible for delivering staff training (annual and onboarding) of our Fire and Emergency systems.

Qualifications, skills and experience

  • Ideally you will be trades qualified as an Electrician, Plumber or Builder but unqualified candidate's will be considered if they possess at least 2 years experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in managing projects would be highly regarded
  • Experience in delivering staff training, undertake new employee inductions in the areas of emergency response, electrical safety, equipment and systems usage
  • Proven ability to organise and supervise team members as well external trades and service providers
  • Organise quotes and engage external trades as required
  • Work within a budget
  • Maintain documentary evidence and routine maintenance schedules
  • Be computer literate - outlook, work, excel
  • Have a solid understanding of OH&S and apply as such.
  • Liaise closely with other Dept Managers, Senior Management and various external providers

Requirements

  • Abide by all of Kanandah's policies and procedures, legislative requirements, code of conduct, mandatory reporting requirements, confidentiality agreement and represent Kanandah professionally and ethically
  • All potential staff will be required to pass a Federal Police Check
  • All Kanandah staff are be subject to random drug and alcohol checks.
  • Abide by the Work Health & Safety Act and Regulations
  • Actively participate in the organisation's Continuous Improvement Program
