About The Role
Whitehaven Coal is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead the maintenance function across our Gunnedah Open Cut (GOC) operations.

This is a key leadership role, responsible for delivering safe, reliable, and cost-effective performance of mobile and fixed plant assets while driving strategic improvement across multiple sites.

What You'll Do

  • Lead a culture of Zero Harm across all maintenance activities.
  • Provide clear direction, coaching, and leadership to Superintendents, planners, and engineers.
  • Develop and execute strategies that maximise fleet availability, reliability, and lifecycle value.
  • Oversee long-term asset planning, major component change-outs, rebuilds, and fleet replacement.
  • Own multi-site maintenance budgets and drive cost performance.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, OEMs, suppliers, contractors, and regulators.

What You'll Bring

  • Trade or Engineering qualification (mechanical/electrical) – essential
  • Significant leadership experience in coal mining maintenance management
  • Strong background in mobile fleet maintenance (CHPP/fixed plant experience highly regarded)
  • Demonstrated success leading large teams, budgets, and multi-site operations
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving skills
