Melbourne, Victoria, Australia VIQ Solutions Full time $40,000 - $60,000 per year

VIQ Solutions is a principal in the transcription industry with a longstanding history of providing recording and transcription services globally and throughout Australia.

The VIQ Solutions team is seeking independent contract Speech-to-Text Editors who are passionate about leveraging cutting edge technology as a tool to increase their production and pay potential.

This is a 100% remote opportunity for Independent Contractors.

Our workflow lets you grow your experience and gives you the flexibility of setting your own schedule.

While some of our court clients have work available during more standard business hours, we have plenty of work available in the evenings, early mornings and weekends as well.  In general, work is available 24/7, 365 days a year.

This is not a copy edit position. It is editing draft quality speech-generated text to a verbatim transcript – facilitating and speeding that production process.

Almost all recordings are multi-speaker.

Please be aware, due to the law enforcement and courts origin of the content, much of the content is challenging – both technically impaired and offensive in nature. This should be taken into account when considering whether to move forward on testing.

High-quality documents and timely deliveries are of the utmost importance to our clients, to ensure the terms of their requirements are met.

All successful candidates must be Australia geo-based. Anyone located outside of Australia will be declined from the application process.

Requisite Candidate Skills

  • First-class editing skills
  • Typing speed of at least 60 wpm
  • Self-starter who is reliable and punctual
  • Excellent auditory skills
  • Outstanding literacy (comprehension, spelling and grammar)
  • Consistent adherence to formatting and style standards
  • Accuracy under deadline

Equipment Minimum Requirements (at own expense)

  • Infinity foot pedal
  • Quality headphones
  • Base internet speed (15 mbps or above)
  • Word 365 license
  • Windows 10 Operating System (or above)
  • National Police Clearance

  • Spelling & Grammar
  • Formatting Test

Benefits

  • Flexible schedule
  • Ability to work from anywhere in Australia
  • Opportunity for increased pay for same-day work

Applicants without formal editing experience who meet the above criteria, are capable and quick to learn are encouraged to apply.

If this sounds like the opportunity you have been looking for, then please submit your application using the APPLY FOR THIS JOB button.
