Who is Racing Queensland?

Racing Queensland is a statutory body whose primary purpose is to promote, enhance and provide a platform to service the industry across three codes of racing: Thoroughbred, Greyhound, and Harness. RQ's mission is to champion great racing and events which connect Queensland communities.

Role summary

Racing Queensland is looking for an experienced Videographer to join our Corporate Affairs Team on a full-time permanent basis.

Reporting to the Corporate Affairs Manager, the role will create video and digital content across a cross-section of mediums – and audiences – which provides industry-wide benefit and enhances RQ's reputation as a leading Principal Racing Authority.

This includes fan engagement content, corporate communications and provision to third-party media outlets. In addition, the role will also service RQ's internal departments, assisting with a raft of activities including infrastructure projects, ownership campaigns an Corporate Social Responsibility activities.

What you'll do, day to day

  • Co-ordinate the creation of various communications activities – both internally and externally - for distribution on the RQ website, social media channels and third-party media outlets;
  • Assist the Customer and Corporate Affairs department with developing and executing strategies to improve RQ's share-of-voice within Queensland and growing the organisation's digital audiences;
  • Develop innovative video and digital content to promote RQ's key messages;
  • Create and deliver attractive fan engagement content that generates revenue and delivers improved commercial metrics against strategic objectives; and
  • Plan and execute content for the CEO's video updates to be distributed across RQ channels.

Experience and skills

  • Demonstrated experience in creating, preparing and distributing video and digital animation content across various platforms;
  • A strong ability to capture and post-produce video and graphic content, including experience in organising and managing video/photo shoots and preparing run sheets;
  • Content editing using high level technical knowledge relating to video and multimedia design production;
  • Strong storytelling skills with the ability to create engaging content for different target audiences and varying goals;
  • Working collaboratively across all RQ departments to deliver best-practice, integrated communication campaigns; and
  • Contributing specialist advice to various RQ departments regarding content and multimedia solutions.

Qualifications

  • Relevant qualifications and/or industry experience is essential within the media or sporting environment;
  • Advanced skills in Adobe Suite (Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Audition, InDesign) or equivalent video editing software; and
  • Studio production experience: camerawork, lightning, sound, audio, and post-production.
