Integrated Townships Development Lead

About the role

Yarra Ranges Council is looking for a strong leader with a passion for community building and tourism growth. As the Integrated Township Development Lead, you will have a unique opportunity to shape the future of the Yarra Ranges townships. This role is pivotal in aligning Council's operations with community needs, driving coordinated investment, and embedding a visitor economy mindset across the organisation.

Reporting to the Director of Communities, you will lead a collaborative cross-council approach to the delivery of services, activities, and tourism initiatives across the celebrated townships in the Yarra Ranges. These townships are the home of renowned destinations and experiences for food and wine, nature-based tourism, cultural heritage, and agri-tourism. Your leadership will ensure that local interests are prioritised and community satisfaction is elevated.

This is a full-time permanent position with an annual salary starting from $145,166

Experience and skills we're looking for

• A tertiary qualification in the field of Economic Development, Urban Planning, Business or a related discipline.

• Strategic leadership experience in place-based planning, community development, or local government, with a track record of delivering coordinated outcomes across multiple teams or departments.

• Proven ability to manage complex projects, including the implementation of grant-funded programs and alignment of services across diverse geographic areas.

• Analytical and strategic thinking, with the ability to interpret local issues and opportunities across social, economic, environmental, and cultural dimensions

• Experience working in cross-functional environments, driving collaboration and alignment between departments to achieve shared community outcomes.
