As part of the Sentra Group, we're growing our automation capability and are seeking an Automation Engineer with 3+ years' experience to join our Melbourne team.

The Opportunity

In this role, you will:

  • Design, develop and commission PLC and SCADA systems
  • Troubleshoot, support and optimise industrial automation systems
  • Assist with project planning, documentation, testing and integration
  • Collaborate with a highly skilled team across project design, integration and delivery
  • Contribute to client solutions that improve efficiency and safety
  • Participate in ongoing learning and development opportunities

About You

We're looking for someone with:

  • 2–3+ years' experience in an automation or control systems engineering role
  • A Degree or Diploma in Engineering (Electrical, Mechatronics, Automation or similar)
  • Experience working in project environment for a Systems Integrator, OEM or End User
  • Excellent communication, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with various platforms across PLC, SCADA, motion control, robotics, or industrial networks
  • Experience with PLC/SCADA programming or commissioning
  • Familiarity with major platforms (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider)
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • A strong commitment to safety, quality and teamwork
  • Experience with Ignition (Inductive Automation) highly regarded
