Classification: Clinical Nurse Consultant (ZF4)
Salary: $2,245.40 per week FTE GCHAM Cert allowance (if applicable)
Working Hours: Part Time - Min 2 days per week up to full Time – 76 hours per fortnight
Basis of Employment: Fixed Term contract until 30 June 2026

The National Centre for Farmer Health is a research, service delivery and education centre that provides national leadership to improve the health, wellbeing and safety of farm men and women, farm workers, their families and communities across Australia. The Centre is a partnership between Western District Health Service and Deakin University and is based in Hamilton, Victoria.
About the role
An exciting opportunity exists for a highly motivated registered nurse to join the National Centre for Farmer Health (NCFH), based in beautiful Hamilton, Victoria. The centre is unique in delivering specialised multidisciplinary, integrated agricultural health services, research, training and education direct to farmers, rural professionals, tertiary and secondary students across Australia. We are seeking a passionate Farmer Health Clinician to enhance the health, wellbeing, and safety of farmers and agricultural communities. This flexible role involves delivering AgriSafe Clinics, conducting Health and Lifestyle Assessments, providing clinical advice, and representing the NCFH at educational forums. You will contribute to research, ensure quality clinical practices, and collaborate with agrihealth professionals. We are looking to fill a full-time position but will welcome applications from multiple candidates seeking flexible hours, including school-friendly options, or part time work to balance their professional and personal commitments.
You will bring
The position requires a registered nurse with Division 1 qualification and a minimum 3 years' post graduate experience and current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). The successful candidate will have a passion for rural and farmer health and a thorough understanding of agricultural exposures and occupational risks affecting farmer health, wellbeing and safety and have completed, or be willing to complete, the postgraduate unit HMF701 Agricultural Health & Medicine offered through Deakin University.
The candidate must possess a valid driver's license as travel will be required to deliver clinical services to remote and rural locations.
The successful candidate will be self-sufficient and effectively direct their work. The role demands individuals who are organised, and detail-oriented, and proficient maintaining patient files and records, coordinating referrals and managing appointments and schedules. The candidate will have commitment to delivering excellent customer service and building positive relationships with the Centre's staff, community, students, farmers and collaborative partners.

The successful applicant will hold, or be able to obtain, a current National Criminal Police Check. Dependant on your position you may be required to obtain a Working with Children Check Clearance, Disability Worker Exclusion Scheme check and / or NDIS Worker Screening Check. All successful applicants are to comply with WDHS immunisation and vaccination requirements.
