Do you love making connections and seeing people thrive? This part-time role (22.8 hours a week) is all about helping people connect with their local community and explore new activities
As a Community Connector, you'll be a friendly face, helping people discover the fun things happening right in their own backyard. Working part time (22.8 hours per week, 3 days, fixed term until June 2026), you'll work across the location: Dandenong, with travel to the AMCS Office.
Your days will include:
- Find awesome participants: You'll chat with people to see if this program is a good fit for them.
- Discover their goals: You'll help people figure out what activities and groups they'd like to join in the community.
- Make it happen: You'll help people connect with local groups and activities they'll enjoy.
- Work with partners: You'll team up with other organisations to find the best resources for everyone.
- Spread the word: You'll help people learn about this program so more can join the fun
- Keep track of everything: You'll help document the program's success to keep it running strong.
What you'll need:
- Relevant qualification or experience in working with disability or high care needs people is preferable.
- Demonstrated understanding of NDIS.
- Experience in identifying and implementing innovation, mentoring, care assessments, carer education and well-being.
- Ability to work with people with psycho-social disabilities and their carers.
- A broad understanding of diversity issues as they relate to individuals and their engagement with social and physical activities.
- Interpersonal skills: Demonstrated ability to deal sensitively and diplomatically with a diverse range of individuals/groups and organisations; ability to engage CALD seniors.
- Communication: Demonstrated ability to write in a way that is clear, appropriate, and readily understood by the target audience, able to produce community information and prepare posters and flyers.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Able to maintain high levels of confidentiality.
- First Aid Certificate and CPR
- Current Victorian driver's license
- Working With Children Check
- Police check clearance
- Competency in MS Outlook/MS Office.
