About the role:The Data Architect designs and manages CDC's enterprise data systems to ensure data is accurate, secure, and accessible across the business. They develop scalable data solutions, support data governance, and contribute to the successful delivery of the Finance Transformation Program. This role involves working closely with internal teams to align data architecture with business strategy and long-term growth.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Lead the development of CDC's enterprise data strategy, including scalable architecture, integration frameworks, and future-proof data models.
  • Design and maintain data flows across core systems (ERP, CRM, Operations), ensuring seamless integration and performance.
  • Establish and mature data governance practices, including data dictionaries, catalogues, and quality frameworks to drive consistency and compliance.
  • Develop and implement platforms and pipelines that support real-time and batch processing, with a strong focus on scalability and efficiency.
  • Champion AI and data governance initiatives, positioning CDC as a forward-thinking, data-driven organisation.
  • Drive cultural change through embedded data ownership, proactive problem-solving, and pragmatic delivery of incremental, high-impact solutions.

About you:

This role would be suitable for a candidate who has proven technical expertise in data architecture and a strong background in cloud-based data platforms and governance.

  • Proven experience with relational and non-relational databases, cloud services (e.g. Azure Synapse, Stream Analytics), and scripting languages like Python and PowerShell.
  • Demonstrated success delivering scalable data solutions within transformation programs or fast-paced environments.
  • Strong understanding of data modelling, governance frameworks and performance optimisation across enterprise systems.

Essential:

Australian Citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a NV1 Security Clearance.
