About The Role
The role of Technical Officer Open Space and Recreation is responsible for resolving customer service issues and providing technical support to maintain service delivery of Council's Sport Facilities, Parks and Reserves and Roadside Vegetation assets.

Join our dynamic team and provide essential technical support to Unit's Team Leaders, ensuring positive customer engagement through various communication methods. You'll inspect, investigate, and report on Open Space and Recreation issues, collaborate on asset maintenance projects, and manage contractors. This position is required to provide quality customer service and create value for the community.

Key Activities Of This Role Include

  • Provides technical support to the Unit's Team Leaders in the resolution of often ill-defined service issues for functional areas as allocated
  • Ensures positive customer engagement responding to customers in a timely manner via verbal or written communication. This may include but not limited to face-to-face contact, telephone conversations, preparation of letters and emails
  • Inspects, investigates, reports, corresponds, programmes and estimates costs in relation to Open Space and Recreation issues

To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Have

  • Certificate III qualification in Horticultural discipline
  • Valid Construction General Induction card- NSW WorkCover or equivalent
  • Current C Class Drivers Licence
  • AQF3 Chemical Accreditation.

Other Important Information

  • The commencing salary for this position is up to $83.2k per annum. Central Coast Council also provides progression opportunities for employees to progress up to the maximum salary of $96.4k per annum on completion of assessment of skills and performance plus 12% superannuation.
  • We have a permanent full time role available.
  • This role will be able to access a 9 day fortnight
  • This role is located at Charmhaven Depot.

Council may create an eligibility list from this recruitment process and may utilise this eligibility list to fill other permanent or temporary vacancies.
