We are looking for a compassionate and reliable support worker within the Lake Macquarie area to provide personal care for a male with a spinal cord injury.

About you:

You are reliable with a good work ethic. You pride yourself on providing personal care with dignity and respect. You follow instructions well and understand the importance of providing individualised support within a home environment. You are flexible and have availability to cover vacant shifts as required.

About the role:

You will be providing male personal care including bowel and PEG feeding with patience and diligence, as well as other general household tasks and day to day responsibilities. Manual handling required.

Shifts currently on offer include but are not limited to:

  • 8.30pm to 6.30am – Monday to Sunday (active shift overnight)
  • 6.30am to 4.30pm – Monday to Friday
  • 7am to 4.30pm – Saturday and Sunday
  • Some possibility of filling in vacant shifts during staff absences.

Training will be provided

Requirements:

  • Cert III in Disability or Aged Care (preferred)
  • First Aid Certificate (preferred)
  • MUST have previous experience in TBI/SCI, preferably in spinal.
  • Knowledge on SPC, PEG, AD, medications, bowel care, lifters and transfers
  • National Criminal Record Check (Can assist with application)
  • Current unrestricted Drivers License and reliable car.
