About the Role

The Field Joint Coating Plural Spray Applicator is responsible for the safe and efficient application of Denso Protal 7700 on pipeline field joints. This position is part of a high-production pipeline construction team operating in a remote Northern Territory environment, requiring strong technical ability, attention to detail, and a consistent focus on safety and quality in a fast-paced work setting..

Through this role, you'll contribute to risk assessments, audits, incident investigations, training, and workplace inspections, gaining real-world experience in HSE best practices across our operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform coating works in accordance with project specifications, ITPs, and Denso manufacturer requirements.
  • Set up, operate, and maintain plural component spray systems for Protal 7700, ensuring correct pressures, ratios, and temperatures are achieved.
  • Apply coatings to achieve the specified dry film thickness (DFT), coverage, and adhesion in full compliance with QA/QC requirements.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting of plural spray equipment to minimise downtime.
  • Work collaboratively with other coating crew members to meet daily joint production targets.
  • Follow all site safety procedures, including JHAs, Take-5s, and permit-to-work systems.
  • Handle and dispose of coating materials and waste in accordance with environmental management procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in pipeline field joint coating using plural spray systems.
  • Proven competency in the application of Denso Protal 7700 or equivalent epoxy coating systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in remote, high-production pipeline environments.
  • Strong knowledge of coating application procedures and QA/QC compliance requirements.
  • Competence in environmental monitoring and coating application controls.
  • Current White Card and valid Driver's Licence.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol, and fit-for-work testing.
  • Willingness to work extended rosters and long shifts in remote outdoor conditions.

Desirable:

  • NACE/ACA Coating Applicator or Inspector certification.
  • Prior experience on remote pipeline projects.
