Join Our client and use your technical spray expertise to maintain the landscaped corridors along the Canberra light rail network - one of the ACT's newest and most iconic infrastructure projects.
What You'll Be Doing
As part of our clients Landscape Maintenance team, you will:
- Undertake safe and effective weed control and herbicide application in line with Our client spray program and environmental standards.
- Identify, treat, and monitor invasive plant species across turf, garden beds, and native grassland areas.
- Maintain, calibrate, and operate spray units, equipment, and vehicles.
- Record chemical usage accurately and comply with all regulatory and environmental requirements.
- Assist with broader landscape maintenance activities such as planting, mulching, watering, and pruning when required.
- Apply your experience across urban forest, native grassland, turf management, tree protection, and spray programs.
- Always work safely and follow Clients rail safety and traffic management procedures.
This position forms part of Our Landscape Maintenance team (Landscape Gardener function), with a specific focus on spray application, weed control, and vegetation management within the light rail corridor. This is a specialised role where your knowledge of herbicide use, calibration, and vegetation management will help protect and enhance the visual and environmental quality of Canberra's light rail landscape.
Mandatory Requirements
What We're Looking For
- 3-5 years' experience in vegetation management, weed control, or equivalent
- ChemCert AQF-3 qualification
- Proven experience operating and maintaining spray equipment
- Current Australian Driver's Licence
- Full Australian working rights
- Willing and able to pass a Rail Category 2 medical (including drug & alcohol testing)
- Strong safety focus
Desirable Qualifications/Experience
- White Card, Asbestos Awareness, Crystalline Silica, and Traffic Controller certification
- Certificate III (or higher) in Parks and Gardens, Landscaping, Greenkeeping, or equivalent
- Knowledge of integrated pest and weed management practices
- Medium Rigid (MR Licence )
