NSW Department of Education is seeking a Contract Management Officer to shape value-driven procurement.

What you'll do

  • Ensure contractual obligations and performance measures are met, supporting stronger commercial outcomes
  • Collaborate with Department of Education stakeholders to meet needs, resolve issues, and keep contracts and suppliers moving smoothly
  • Develop contract management capability aligned with the Departmental Accreditation framework
  • Monitor contract KPIs and supplier performance, taking remedial action before disputes arise
  • Build awareness of obligations, processes, and performance criteria through thorough supplier inductions and ongoing performance meetings across business units
  • Identify industry and contract trends by tracking key products, suppliers, and markets
  • Drive value and cost reductions with suppliers through process innovation and ongoing improvements over the contract life
  • Contribute to procurement performance reporting on supplier performance, contract compliance, customer satisfaction, spend, and savings
  • Manage contracts from signed document to implemented service delivery, including troubleshooting and liaising with finance and communications while handling sensitive information with integrity
  • Maintain routines and schedules in a dynamic environment, prioritising daily challenges without neglecting core business needs.

About you

Minimum 2 years contract management and procurement experienceStrong collaboration skills and the ability to translate complex requirements into practical actionsAnalytical mindsetAdaptability to a dynamic schedule and changing priorities.Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

Essential requirements of the role

Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (e.g., CIPS, PCTP level 3), or experienced considered equivalent.
