Licensing Executive

Headquartered in Melbourne, Merchantwise has offices around Australia and teams in Europe and China.

Due to our recent business growth, we are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Licensing Executive to join our team. This role is pivotal in advancing brand licensing partnerships across various categories including apparel, toys, stationery, homewares, accessories, publishing, and personal care. The Licensing Executive will support the Licensing Team, assist in day-to-day brand management, contract administration, licensee and client liaison and creative approvals.

Your main duties will include:

  • Supporting the Managing Director in promoting and securing new brand licensing partnerships for a major portfolio of entertainment brands
  • Drafting deal memos and managing licensing agreements.
  • Working closely with brand owners, licensees, manufacturers, wholesalers, and retailers to support and expand their commercial programs.
  • Coordinating brand marketing and retail initiatives, industry events, and presentations.
  • Supporting the development of brand and trade presentation materials.
  • Liaising with the marketing team to coordinate retail activations and support.
  • Supporting creative approvals.
  • Handling day-to-day brand management tasks.

As the successful applicant you will have:

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in licensing, brand management, or a related role.
  • A solid understanding of consumer products and retail markets.
  • A good foundation in managing projects and multiple timelines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive and organized approach with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
