About the role
As a key member of our Data Engineering team, you will work with us to design, build and deliver leading data solutions utilising Snowflake and other modern data tools. The work we do is broad but always focused on delivering the best outcome for our clients.
This role can be based in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane or Perth
.
As a Principal Data Engineer - Snowflake you will:
- Successfully lead data projects & teams - sometimes concurrently - varying in size, complexity & ambiguity to achieve fantastic outcomes for both clients and Mantel
- Play a technical, hands-on role on projects as needed using a variety of modern big data tools and cloud technologies, including Snowflake
- Drive further growth for Mantel - identifying and pursuing new opportunities
- Support sales initiatives that touch on Snowflake technologies through technical customer demonstrations, and supporting tenders, RFQs, RFIs and other activities
- Be across commercial aspects of a project - such as project estimation and resourcing, project scoping and pricing
- Establish and maintain relationships with clients as a source of informed, reliable, professional advice about solution options
- Support the Mantel - Snowflake partnership, work alongside the internal Data Partnerships Coordinator and the Snowflake practice leadership
- Mentor and coach our team members and clients
- Provide ongoing guidance and support to our broader data team
- Be the data engineering consulting SME, lead the teams on best practices and provide ongoing guidance and support
- Building Mantel's reputation within the broader community as a known thought leader representing the company through social and meetup channels to develop market awareness
We want to hear from you if you have:
- Extensive consulting experience and a proven track record of building relationships / rapport with technical and business leaders at Head of, EM, GM and CxO level
- Deep knowledge and experience of the Snowflake data ecosystem
- Experience working on large engagements and the ability to understand complex customer requirements and apply technology solutions to meet business problems
- Experience in large and complex RFP responses, solution design, ability to articulate the value proposition of an overall solution
- Proven experience and ability to own the preparation of sales presentations, proposals, documents and artefacts
- Excellent leadership and communication skills and confidence making presentations
- Strong influencing and negotiation skills with the ability to handle objections and be persuasive when proposing solutions and products
- Self-motivated and hands-on approach, adept at navigating ambiguity to find solutions
